What do you focus on
As Halebury’s General Counsel, I work closely with the back office team and the board on all legal and legal process matters as with as the lawyer community on their client matters.
Tell us about your professional background
I have worked and lived in Australia, Hong Kong, USA, Italy and England. I qualified in three jurisdictions, focusing on IP, technology, media and data before becoming a commercial lawyer. I worked in private practice with Baker McKenzie and as a partner with Dentons before I moved in-house as Assistant General Counsel, Europe with a US based global media entity. Over the course of 16 years, I held senior regional in-house roles and managed legal teams at companies that were both globally listed and national. I then took a step into direct business roles, an operational role in a law firm and a sales role in a globally listed satellite operator where I headed up their SE Asia division. These roles gave me all-round perspective in the business areas of sales management, law firm management and business consulting.
Tell us a bit about your working style and other interests
After years in-house in cross-functional business roles, my approach is to be responsive and solutions driven but also “right-sizing” risk awareness. Outside the office, I also inhabit another life on an island in the sun which is a wildlife sanctuary to loud colourful birds with attitude.
