What do you focus on for your clients?
I am an experienced commercial manager and lawyer. I have worked at board level and led international legal and business affairs teams across a range of businesses but with the greatest specialisation in the media sector. Particular areas of focus include commercial contracts, IP and media and managing an effective and efficient team.
Tell us about your professional background
I trained at Norton Rose and have since spent some 30 years in-house managing legal teams of varying size and complexity across a range of industries. I was the Controller of Business Affairs at BBC Worldwide before moving to FremantleMedia Enterprises where I was Global Head of Legal & Business Affairs for some 12 years. In the years I have been with Halebury I have developed my passion for operational excellence and all things legal tech.
Tell us a bit about your working style and other interests
I see it as important that a legal team is operating efficiently and using their talents to add value to the business. This requires a balance of good legal skills, excellent communication abilities and a pragmatic and commercial approach to solving a client’s problems and making the most of their opportunities. When not working I am a tennis player and gardener and like to spend time with my family and our dog, Toby.
