The In-House Experience: Working Smarter
By Richard Dalby: As some of you will know, I’m working on a blueprint for establishing and managing successful in-house legal teams. In practise, each business will be unique and its requirements for legal services will reflect the size and identity of the enterprise, the nature of the industry and the risk taking culture of the senior management. However, I have identified a number of key elements and I wanted to share some of these in an easily digestible format.
This is the second in the series entitled “Working Smarter”. In this, I am looking at systems, processes and activities that can help an in-house legal team become more efficient and effective. I have expressed these as simple bullet points but some of the ideas, giving the legal teams negotiating parameters for example, are potentially far more complex when it comes to practical implementation.
