Further expansion for Halebury as former Heads of Legal Martin Scott and Belinda Stevens join the team
Halebury continues to expand its team of senior in-house lawyers with experienced former Heads of Legal Martin Scott and Belinda Stevens.
Martin has been a legal consultant for the past five years and has worked on assignments for a variety of clients including Amazon, Sodexo, British Gas, Network Rail and Balfour Beatty. Prior to his career in NewLaw, Martin was Head of Legal at Babcock International UKAEA for 5 years and has worked in private practice in firms including S J Berwin, and Eversheds.
He has a background in negotiating high value contracts (up to £1bn in value) covering outsourcing, technology, general commercial, procurement, infrastructure and energy. Martin also holds an MBA from London Business School.
Halebury CEO Denise Nurse commented: “Martin is a fantastic addition to our team of senior in-house lawyers. In addition to his solid in-house background, he has several years of experience working in NewLaw and understands how to use alternative service delivery methods to bring benefit to the client. He also has the insight of a Head of Legal within an international organisation to add genuine strategic value on processes and efficiencies.”
Martin said: “Having worked in NewLaw for some time now, Halebury is a natural evolution for me to be able to broaden my portfolio and do senior level projects for a variety of clients.”
Meanwhile Belinda Stevens joins Halebury’s team of procurement specialists directly from her role as Head of Procurement: Governance and Policy at the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Prior to this, Belinda worked in senior in-house roles at Damovo, Royal and Sun Alliance Insurance, American Express Insurance Services Europe and Aon Risk Services. She is dually qualified in the UK and New Zealand.
Belinda is an experienced in-house lawyer with expertise across a range of sectors including information technology, health, insurance and financial services.
Halebury Chairwoman Janvi Patel said: “Commercial, procurement and technology are core areas for Halebury, so we are delighted to have someone of Belinda’s calibre on the team to help service some of our key clients’ commercial and legal teams.”
Belinda commented: “Halebury provides me with a platform to build my own portfolio of work on my own terms. I am excited to be part of a progressive NewLaw business.”
