What do you focus on for your clients
I have more than 20 years’ experience in private practice and in-house legal teams working for UK-based and global organisations in the commercial, corporate, technology, media and energy areas, with a particular focus on intellectual property. I quickly understand my clients’ businesses and their key strategic and operational objectives, and then provide legal and commercial advice on a risk versus reward, solution-driven basis tailored to the relevant stakeholders in the business together with practical help on implementing those solutions.
Tell us about your professional background
Before joining Halebury, I held senior legal roles (including a leadership role) at Shell as Managing Counsel for Oil Products and Senior Legal Counsel, IP. I was also Head of Legal at The Press Association, the national news agency for the UK/Republic of Ireland, and covered a Vice-President Europe role on an interim basis at Hasbro Europe. I trained and worked in private practice at Dentons.
Tell us a bit about your working style and other interests
The commercial and technical people working in a business often find the legal aspects of their day-to-day work and projects hard to understand. I like to make my advice as straightforward and user-friendly as possible so that we can all work together as partners to come up with the best solutions for the business. Outside work, I love travelling and discovering new places, food and drink as well as keeping up with my friends around the world.
